Peoria Art Park Features New Murals By Local Artists
Out with the old and in with the new! That is the motto at C.T. Gabbert Remodeling & Construction in their Art Park. The Art Park features five murals which can be paintings, photos or other art forms. Recently Gabbert swapped out four existing murals for fresh new images.
“We’ve been working on this round for awhile now. We like to take our time and find really unique pieces that can also serve as educational pieces for the kids when they come visit the Tiny Free Library too,” Chuck Gabbert said.
The new murals feature unique art pieces by local artists. Abraham Lincoln is featured as a painting by the late Bill Hardin. Chuck explains, “Bill was a great guy with amazing talents. It’s an honor to showcase his works. We also feature a quilt called Soul Serenade. Trish Williams makes beautiful quilts and you wouldn’t think this would be the best way to display her work, but since we can take a picture and then make it a vinyl poster, it works great! Kiley Beecher created the construction-inspired work we couldn’t resist. This experience has been a lot of fun! There are a lot of great local artists.” John Faginkrantz’s custom Peoria-inspired mural remains at the helm. The last mural on the wall is the abstract Private Dancer by Adrel Haynes. The Art Park also features an ever-changing colorful MG hand-painted by Joe Gabbert and a granite sculpture by Matt Matheny.
