We’re hiring a creative, full-time, IN-HOUSE CAD designer to bring our clients’ remodeling architectural dreams to life! This is an in office (1323 SW Adams St. Peoria, IL) position. You’ll serve as the primary architectural drafter for our company, utilizing design software to produce 2D and 3D designs. This position primarily designs interior residential designs. You must be able to use Chief Architect as well as 20/20 Architectural Design Software. Communication is vital for this position as you’ll work directly with clients and incorporate their feedback into your designs. Our ideal applicant has a passion for delivering incredible customer service and is an experienced residential designer. This position is more than picking out textiles it’s using computer aided programs to bring visions to life in a 3D way for our clients. If you are detail-oriented, want to grow your career in construction, and love seeing a project through to the end, we want to hear from you. We are a remodeling company that’s been in business for 45 years. This position would primarily design interior projects but will also have the opportunity to design whole home remodeling.
CAD Designer Responsibilities
- Attend preliminary meetings with the client to understand the project specifications and scope, again, this is is LOCAL, IN-OFFICE position.
- Work with construction team members to establish a timeline and budget for the design
- Use design software to produce 2D and/or 3D designs, depending on the complexity of the project
- Research material properties in large databases to identify the best materials for modeling
- Notify superintendents and project managers of the design’s progress and when the designs are complete
- Get feedback from the client and construction managers and revise designs as needed
- Knowledge on how to measure, using a tape measurer or laser measurer for accurate dimensions.
- Ordering materials AND tracking those orders, once the project is sold.
- Know Residential CAD program.
CAD Designer Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in design, architecture, construction engineering, or similar field is preferred
- Minimum 2 years of work experience in architectural design
- 3 years of CAD / remodeling experience
- Advanced knowledge of architectural design software, such as Chief Architect Premier: Construction Drawings, 20/20, SketchUp,
- Possess a firm grasp on the industry as a whole and stay up-to-date on evolving trends in architectural technologies and local building codes.
- Stellar attention to detail, teamwork abilities, communication skills, and organizational skills
- MUST WORK IN OUR OFFICE. 5 DAYS A WEEK. THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION
