At over 100 years old, the Americana House at Wildlife Prairie Park was ready for a much-needed facelift. While full of charm and history, the home wasn’t up to code — with steep stairs and no ADA accessibility, it simply wasn’t ready to welcome today’s guests.

With a vision of adding the home to their Airbnb collection, we had our work cut out for us — and we were honored to bring it back to life.

We created a 10’ addition to increase stair depth and improve safety, making the upstairs fully usable once again. Each bathroom was reworked to increase usable space so multiple guests can stay comfortably. The main-level bathroom is now accessible for all, and the kitchen layout was redesigned to truly become the heart of the home — a place where guests can gather and connect.

All finishes were thoughtfully selected as a nod to classic Americana style while still delivering the modern functionality today’s guests expect.

A new exterior ramp now provides safe, welcoming entry for every guest.
