This small bathroom was out of date and unsafe for the homeowners. Mobility issues made the carpet in the bathroom a tripping hazard and not a very sanitary option. The plumbing before used to be on opposite walls creating another unsafe path of walking. The window was old and leaked which caused other safety issues with mold and rotten wood.
We switched the plumbing of the vanity to be on the same wall as the toilet which allows for a straight line of travel to enter the new walk-in shower. The built seat wrapped in Onyx, provides a much safer seat for the homeowner. Coupled with the handheld unit and built-in niche, the back of the shower is just as functional as the front! We included multiple grab bars which also serve as the towel bars for the family. Installing LVT flooring allows for a smooth and safe option for the floor where a walker may be needed in the future. The addition of the cabinetry allows ample storage for them now giving a place for everything and the clutter at bay!
